Dutch Lions 1-4 St Andrews Youth

December 20, 2006

Top Vs Bottom today and after our Christmas Party we were feeling optimistic. We started the game with a firm plan.  The first half remained tight with chances being wasted at each end. With the lions playing offside leaving one St Andrews Striker a yard offside, the ref decided to wave on after the lino indicated the clear infringment. One nil to St Andrews into half time. With a depleted squad Taela went right back with Arron keeping goal. Both had solid games. You could tell Taela was enjoying himself. A mixture of Defensive mistakes and not enough pressure gave St Andrews opportunity to build on their lead. 4 nil down and we are finally awarded something. A free kick off centre 20 yds out the Skipper Pedro ask his Bro if he is gonna score, Paulos response was short and sweet, just like the man. Yes Bruv. Paulo hit this ball with laser guided accuracy right into the top right hand corner. As soon as it left his foot it was in.  No keeper was gonna save that. St Andrews were able to bring a bunch of clowns up front for the last ten and fair play, I would like to be in thier position. In thier Manager they have a nice guy, I wish them well and hope they can win the league now.  No games until the new year so lay off the mince pies and recharge those batterys, 2007 is a new start for the Lions.

Peace & Merryment

Its a major story people, Reports in today state that Mo Awada has secretly awarded Timid the honoured Captains role in the back of a car park off Ealing Broadway. They where reported to have been in discussions for quite some time in the local NCP. Timid has previously been quoted has saying he would do anything for the job. Fundraisier night was a huge success..

July 16, 2006

The first ever fundraisier night for the Dutch Lions has been a huge success. The team raised vital funds that will ensure we can continue to entertain the masses on a Sunday morning. Massive big up to Mo and Timid for presenting the night and Timids “It’s a White Ticket” one liners will surely go down in history as one of the funniest raffles you will ever experience.

Pictures of the night can be seen by clicking on the link below:

Our midfield play-maker Ahmed sold the lucky ticket (number 53) to the eventual winner of the ipod Nano, The luck Winner was Unsa Fareed from Northolt. Unsa (pictured third on the left in this photo) was present on the night and collected her great prize from our very own Timid. Timid got a kiss for his trouble.
Thanks to Macca, Grant & Martell for doing their bit to assist our DJ’ing requirements. Nuff said. Thanks also to my mother (Nanny Mo) and her friend Ann for feeding the troops.

Thank you all for making the night a success, these funds are vital for us. We cannot wait to get our season underway and please keep a track of our progress on this website. Videos, stories, pictures and of course our results will be placed on this site (www.dutchlionsfc.co.uk) throughout the season.
Anyone wanting to play for the Dutch Lions should contact either myself or your local Dutch Lion, Pre-season training is nearing.

Thanks once again to everyone who supported our cause, Many couldn’t make the night, many travelled from far. Thanks once more.

Please share your experiences of the night below using the comments button. I wondered.. Was Gavin right to go for the Official DLFC Orange Balloon in the Raffle when there was a ton of booze left? Ping Pong.

Project X Needs your comments

March 14, 2006

Right Gentleman lets get down to the nitty gritty.
Project X is underway. We want glory and we have something special.
A score is to be settled. Wanderers will be disbanded next year from what I understand and enough breeze has be spoken. It’s time to discuss the future.

What is required? We have to submit an application to the Hendon and District league before April the 30th 2006. Once this is done we will have to attend an “interview” so they can check us out, they dont want time wasters so Grant stay in bed.
The New season will start 1st or 2nd week in Sept. So we will have the summer to

complete affiliation with County ,sort pitch and kit etc.The £170.00 fee for joining this league includes (£60 Joining fee,£20 (more…)
